I have been looking for feedback on wall upholstering in yachts. We are engaging in modernizing the interior of a long range cruiser by upholstering the walls with padded vinyl. Some suggest direct installation on the existing veneer walls while other suggest the vinyl material to be installed on 1/8" plywood boards to be fastened to the walls. Can any one share the best method for installation, benefits and drawbacks. Thank you Enrique Caracas-Venezuela
When we redid our Ocean I used 1/4 inch Marine Plywood and cut panels to fit and then upholstered them with the UltraSuede.... They are attached with 1 inch commercial grade Velcro..... This will make it really easy in a few years when we redo it again... Take the panels down reupholster and put them back up....... We relly like them.... Steve
