Hi everybody. My boat is a 2003 vintage and has Simrad radar, chart sounder, transducer, auto pilot, wind instrument, and Furuno GPS, VHF, Navtex, Icom AIS, Sailor HF, KVH tracvision antena and an obsolete Inmarsat system (that I am not using) and I am looking at installing a Sionyx camera. I am considering installing the Simrad NSO evo3S system and, so far, nobody from Simrad has confirmed that I can connect all of these NMEA 0183 systems to the NSO (except for the Sionyx which I know can be done). Can anybody here confirm that it can be done and has anyone had experience doing that type of retrofit? Thanks
NEMA183? Yes, I recall 183 in and out (with pass thru) on the NSS. IMO, a 183 mux to N2000 would offer better data management and your NSS will work smoother. I'm AP48, AP16, AC12, IS20, E120, RN310, NAIS-400, RS35, NSS12 evo2, DSM300, RNS to PC, ST-183-RC232, ST2-N2K and more junk I can not remember. 183 talks, easier with a 183 mux.
If you use one of these, you'll have no trouble merging 2000 and 0183 devices. https://www.rosepoint.com/nemo-gateway/
Exactly. Different from my swamp budget, a perfect example. This could be the ideal option. Your new NSS will appreciate it (less needless-repetitive 183 interrupts).
