I am looking for a yard with 100 ton+ lift capability. I've dead-ended and am concluding Gloucester is my closest yard. Anyone know of a yard in or near Boston that can accommodate a 105 ton trawler for haulout?

    Thanks!

How about DN Kelley in Fairhaven, just south of the Canal.

early october we hauled out at Kelley, which is now part of Fairhaven Shipyards, good service, MUCH cheaper than Newport yards.

What about the Bradford yard or is it derecktors that is located on Long Island? There is a yard in Brielle, NJ with a 75 ton haulout...... think it's called Brielle yacht Basin.......

That's much farther from Boston than Gloucester

Rob Gray is a good guy (Project manager at Kelley) who is always willing to go an extra mile. BTW- they were sold last summer to Fairhaven Shipyard so that may be the best way to find them with Google
    good luck

On Long Island you could be talking about Brewer's in Glen Cove or Week's in Greenport. Director is over in Bridgeport , CT. Bradford which is in Ct. is good, but I don't think they can handle 100 ton. All of these are well west of your destination probably not the best recommendation for a yacht of your size. Your best bet is Kelly's/Fairhaven which are just off Buzzard' Bay or Newport. If it's just for the boat I'd say Kelly/Fairhaven but if you'll be spending a long time with the boat you might be better off in Newport.

In the Newport area you can try Newport Shipyard or just up the bay in Portsmouth is the Hinckley Yard

Thanks for all of the helpful suggestions. I knew I could count on this group.

Fairhaven was most helpful, but is further away from Boston than Gloucester. There is a commercial yard (Fitzgerald's) in Chelsea but with a full schedule. Rose Marine also has a full schedule and couldn't confirm a haulout date.

We are scheduled for 2 days at Gloucester Marine Railways.

    Thanks again for the suggestions!

Gloucester Marine Railways was outstanding. They have a real smart gal there running the show whose name is Viking. Great service, great staff, and didn't take advantage of any "gotcha" situations. Can't think of a yard I've experienced that was better.
