    Came across this information and thought it might help bring some perspective. I can't vouch for the accuracy, but I believe these prices were from March 2005...?

    I paid a little over $3.00 a gallon for gas yesterday. Not bad considering...

    The price increases are indeed shocking.
    Why, I can recall that in 1995 when I was last down in Puerta La Cruz, Venezuela, the price was $.12... for a liter :D

    The UK is closer to $7 a gallon now, other areas around the Uk not much off $8.
    Our interest rates have just gone up again, so fuel prices will most probably rise too!!

    I think I will charter a tanker or a shadow boat and head for Caracas to fill up, maybe get a bulk rate. Then I will anchor just off the coast here and sell fuel for $3.50 a gallon. Still cheaper than the fuel dock, they want $3.86.
