Hi.... I was just checking out the Panama Canal webcam and noticed that "Talitha G" was transiting in a West to East direction through Miraflores Locks..... So i grabed a snap shot.
Thanks for posting! Webcams are great fun to follow and to catch the right moment as you did. I use to have a look at waterholes in Africa where the exotic animals come or just like this natural scenery from the Mont Blanc... http://www.webcam-montblanc.com/webcam/full.php?img=jpg/mont_blanc_zoom1/mont_blanc_zoom1_18.jpg
Well, i always thought that you are supposed to take in the flags at night and i have seen it numerous times over on cruiseships and yachts.
ensign should always be flown when underway. Even at night. Think there are a few occasions when not to fly but generally, only taken down when in port.
Well.. i guess i learned something new... but now that i think back i remmeber the crew of the Octopus used to take in the red ensign every evening when she was out at anchor is Carlilse Bay. She would not have been in port then. and i remember once or twice when she departed at twilight for her little cruises.. they took it in whilst underway..so hmmm...
There are quite a few rules of flag etiquette, but for yachts underway this is the practice; "At sea the Ensign shall be worn in daylight hours, when passing another vessel or when in sight of land. The ensign must always be worn when entering or leaving a foreign port." Meaning you should 24/24 hours fly your colours when at sea where somebody can see you.
Your thoughts on Webcams Today’s Webcams are a great way to monitor and keep track of yachts for yacht owners, guests, crew and even yacht enthusiasts. My favorites are onboard bridge cams that many of the cruise ships have, viewing ahead of the ship. What are your thoughts on webcams and do you know of any interesting webcams on yachts or ports you would like to share?
This webcam is a great one..... I have been monitoring it for a year or two. What a beautiful ship that actually travels to some out of the way places.
Well i guess i could add the Port St. Charles Marina Here in Barbados http://www.portstcharles.com/webcam1_pop.cfm http://www.portstcharles.com/webcam2_pop.cfm http://www.portstcharles.com/webcam3_pop.cfm http://www.portstcharles.com/webcam4_pop.cfm And what about Yacht Haven Grande in St. Thomas USVI http://www.yachthavengrande.com/index.php?sv_path=4562&PHPSESSID=c4bd9329917d1920fb435126c36a9e54 And i suppose you can be on the look out for yachts in the Cayman Islands on their Port webcams..I more see cruiseships than anything else there though. http://www.caymanport.com/webcams.htm And you can take a look at the Lemwerder webcam which has been showing the new Aviva for a while now at the Abeking & Rasmussen Yard. http://www.lemwerder.info/webcams/index.html There are not many yachts that have webcams other than the Talitha G that i can think of. This one is certainly not a webcam but i never saw the SS Delphine's website and to my supprise her interior is stunning. For those who might not have seen it as yet. http://www.ssdelphine.com/
We shouldn´t forget the Port of Monaco webcam, where we can watch Lady Moura and her smaller sisters; http://notari.tv/
In Palm Beach, we have the RyboCam! http://www.rybovich.com/default.aspx?p=DynamicModule&pageid=230848&ssid=81580&vnf=1
I have a webcam just around the corner from my house, facing east. Not so many boats this time of the year but you can at least see what weather it is, or if it is day or night... http://www.waxholmsbolaget.se/special/wax_cam/cam2.html
If you are a cruiseship fan on on this website as i am along with yachts then you would be interested in the webcam views from the MeyerWerft indoor building shed. They are currently more recently started the construction of the m/s AIDAbella which is to be the twin sister of the m/s AIDAdiva. Ships being built for the AIDA cruiseline. This webcam updates every 15mins. http://meyer-werft.cams.netresearch.de/getCamImageNoCache.php?pic=image1_gross.jpg and you have another cam that updates once a week.. you can choose you pick..lol http://www.meyerwerft.de/page.asp?lang=e&main=2&subs=0&did=826 The bottom pic in this link is of the m/s Norwegian Gem and the top pic is the AIDAbella I wonder if Meyer Werft will ever venture into making yachts.
Well here is another website that has a whole list of other webcams and stuff on it in various parts of the world. This was posted by member 'Brand Name' http://www.cargolaw.com/cameras.html#movies
Talitha G Webcam Hi Folks, I've just visited Talitha G's webcam which shows her alongside. Her location is listed as 26 N 05 W - which places her in the Med - but the clock shows 03:22. Is this because the site hosting the Cam is in a different time zone to the yacht, or is there another explanation? Any Ideas? Also, can I say what a brilliant site Yacht Forums is! Beautifully presented, easy to use, well maintained and administered - as well as being friendly and very interesting. Congratulations and thank you to all involved.
