My apologies if this should have been an attachment to an existing thread. The attachment has to do with an important issue that we've discussed many times on these boards. However, the sheer timeliness of the article, on the eve of the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, makes it noteworthy IMHO. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/18/business/yourmoney/18money2.html?_r=1&ei=5070&emc=eta1&oref=slogin
Loren, An excellent posting! Thanks for bringing this article to my attention. My parents introduced me to boating 40 years ago when I was 12 years old. Their decision to buy a boat has had a positive effect on my entire life. When my young friends were getting into trouble with nothing else to do, all I wanted was to be on the boat or hanging around the marina. I have loved boating and the water from the first moment. After a successful first career in another industry, I am now beginning my 20th year as a yacht broker. I look forward to every day. So, let's go boating!
