This is my first post and thread here on yachtforums and it starts with a question. I am on the very northern Chesapeake Bay and I have observed several browards and a westship heading north. Are the using a canal to get out to the Atlantic or/and are they going to New England?
Both. If they are going up the Chesapeake, they will most likely spend a little time in Annappolis and/or Baltimore. They would then head through the C&D canal on their way to New England.
Thanks for answering the question Ken. I never believed that most large yachts exit the Chesapeake that way but it makes sense.
Eastern, Welcome to the forum. As Ken said, they can be heading to other ports or using the C&D canal. But to get to New England, they have to come down Delaware Bay from the C&D and head north in the ocean, from around Cape May (or through the Cape May canal). Can't make it to New England all on the inside.
