I thought I might start another thread the inverse of "the essence of yachting" I had a good one yesterday, A couple of days ago we were cruising along and spotted a pod of whales, now I usually don't make a fuss but the boss's wife loves whale watching so I let them know that they were about 1/2 mile away and breaching, they are insistant that I get closer which I do and we get a good show from about 300 yards but that wasn't close enough for them, I pointed out that everytime we moved closer they moved away and I was not going to harrass them. Well yesterday we were cruising along and a rather large humpback did a full bellyroll breach about 100 yards infront of the boat. I knocked the engines out of gear but kept on drifting on the same course and told the mate to let the boss know that there were whales breaching really close on the bow, I forgot that they were watching the TV. All I heard the boss yell out was WHAT THE F..... DO I CARE ABOUT WHALES, JUST GO AROUND THEM. So what the He11?
