What is this anchor rode material?

    This anchor rode has served me well with limited use for years. Does anyone know what type line is used? The line is fairly stiff and with a yellowish tint, has sort of a 'plastic' feel to it, and a unique weave. It's about 1" cross section; in the picture that is a US dime to show scale.

    Not sure about that. It looks like a small multi strand braid, braided into a larger multi strand. Not sure of my terminology but It's pretty what ever it is.
