    I've worked through the weekend configuring a new computer. Thankfully, I had an external drive with fairly recent back-ups, so not all is lost. Although I didn't have back-ups on the Ambrosia feature, I had uploaded the basic story & images to a scratch forum about 10 days ago, before my house was burglarized.

    We may be w/o power for the next couple of days, so I've finished up the Ambrosia review and I'll take it live in a few minutes. Hope everyone enjoys it and I'll catch you on the backside of Ernesto!

    Contrary to any weather reports you've seen, I'm here to tell you... the weather is downright wicked. Ripples are crashing against my seawall, leaves are floating down from trees and a Dunkin Donuts cup has travelled nearly 100 feet in just over an hour. It's bad, really bad...

    ...I think I'll walk over to the marina for awhile. :rolleyes:

    Well,
    Ernesto may be turning into a bust over here on the east side of south FLA. All hurricane watches have been lifted and Ernesto has only about 40-45 mph sustained winds. A bit of lightning now and a band just went through but no big deal. Many of us put up shutters because these storm can either weaken or get much stronger at the last minute. Rather do the shutter thing than replace the roof thing.
    Good luckto anyone going through this storm.

    Whoah! Sounds wicked;) I did catch one weather reporter in typical fashon, leaning into the "hurricane winds", looking like they were about to be blown away. The funny part was that the trees in the back ground were barely moving

    So true! Sensationalism is alive and well during these storms. Last year, I saw a reporter acting like she was being ravaged by storm force winds in Lauderdale. Then, she held up a Kestrel pocket wind-meter... and it was showing a blistering 18 mph! :rolleyes:

    LOL.........Ernesto had the potential to become a great system however, it passed over Haiti and South eastern Cuba and considerably weakened... so by the time it remerged into the Florida Straits she didnt have enough room to regain significant strenth before hitting land mass again (Florida).

    Carl and others, maybe Florida has something else to worry about becuase there is Depression #6 in the Atlantic....Its about 900nm east of the Leeward Islands. So mabe You all should keep and on it's development.

    CCamper, what you're seeing is the media's dedication to entertainment and NOT objective information! You know they're all upset because after hurricane season 2005 all the major network affiliates in FL beefed up their satellite equipment, and now hurricane season 2006 is not giving them any good footage :D
