My client, based in Dubai, the business hub of the Middle East, has recently launched a new boat manufacturing company. The new company will produce leisure boats, houseboats as well as small leisure submarines for the local marine and tourism industry. The company has acquired 10,000 square metres of land at the Jebel Ali Free Zone where it will manufacture speedboats and leisure boats for the Palm Island (www.thepalm.co.ae) residents and other customers. The Executive Chairman of the holding company said: "In the coming years, residents of Dubai will be able to explore the Gulf's underwater beauty with the leisure submarines that will be manufactured in Dubai. In the coming years, Dubai's waterfront will become the biggest attraction for foreign tourists. "To cater to these growing numbers of tourists, we need to create the right infrastructure. This new company will help the tourists explore the Gulf's beauty." The new company has tied up with US-based Seahorse Submarine International to make leisure submarines for future Palm residents, which will prove to be a lucrative business as the yacht industry in the UAE is set to grow at a rate of 70 to 80 per cent per year for the next five years. This position will require an entrepreneurial individual with the experience, leadership, and management skills to build a focused, dynamic organization. The CEO will be looked upon to set the group of company’s strategic direction and priorities.
