What do you clean the air seps with? Do you have to oil coat them after installing? Thanks ahead of time....

They sell a kit of cleaner and oil. About $20 at most auto stores. Made and sold by airsep.
Remove filter, laundry sink with hot water works best. Spray filter with cleaner, let stand a few minutes, rinse out with hot water. Take outside and air-dry. Then spray with oil till you have a nice evening red color.

Do you scrub them with a soft brush?

I think they do 2 different kits, one with red oil, one blue. You'll have to check which oil was used previously.

Really shouldn't have to. Remember rinse from inside to the outside. All the crud is on the outside

A K&N cleaning kit works also (same filter).
Easy on the new red oil, it could drip for weeks if over oiled.

thnx for the replies, checked their website under frequently asked questions. They come ready to use out of the box, only need to re-oil after cleaning

And only lightly oiled. Remember this is not a lubricant but an assist to reduce the filtration diameters, plus add a little adhesiveness to the air flow. The base oil is a thick mineral oil.

Normal. You can wipe off with a finger. Hopefully not gritty.
