Recently purchased a Viking Princess 60
2012 and I’m having trouble with the Saloon and Dinette lights

The 24 VDC lighting on the Salon and Dinette are control by momentary Switches and the one on the Dinette and one of the Saloon has stop working I change the Bulbs and nothing. Haven’t been able to figure out how to reset them. Checked all breakers and they are all fine. Have spend sometime looking without any luck.

Will appreciate your help in this matter.

    Thanks

    Manny

Assuming that's all that's out most likely the switch is bad. Get out the meter and see if you have power at the light, then coming into and out of the switch(s). I believe you have 2 switches for that (one at each end of the salon). Something is nagging at me though and I DK if it was on the Viking SC, but one switch may be a master. In that case that switch needs to be on before the other switches work. There's also the possibility that one of your battery switches could be off. In any case the meter will tell you how far the current is traveling and where it ends.

If the lights are controlled by momentary switches, it's likely that they do not control the light directly, but through impulse relays.
Which could be either in the electrical panel, or also somewhere else - no idea about the particular boat the OP is mentioning.
But gut feeling tells me it's more likely that such relay(s) is (are) the culprit, rather than any switch.

I think so too, because There’s No Power going into that specific switch, the Dinette lights were working prior of me changing the halogen existing bulbs to LED there was a short on one of the bulbs because it was to long and from there lights are down. I believe there’s got to be a fuse or a NEG reset on my main Distribution Panel. I have the Boning Controls and that’s were I’m stock can’t find the Pulse relay that control the lights. Does anyone knows a Good Boat Electrician on the Ft Lauderdale area.

Momentary switches indeed mean you have a controller / dimmer somewhere. There could also be a fuse. No idea where it is as I m not familiar with viking Princess but someone here has to know.

if not the fuse then maybe the controller was damaged by the short.

Look INSIDE of the breaker panels in the engine room, as in behind the one row of breakers, there are additional breakers and fuses in some of them. A call to Princess N. America should also get you the answer to where everything is located, they're good about that.

If you are still having the problem, I suggest you call HMY as they are the Viking Dealer for your area and they sold those boats new and have a quite good service crew. They are not cheap, but what boat repair specialists are???? Good Luck.
