Hi there! We're looking for suggestions for a monitoring system to replace our current ISIS system.

Systems we want to monitor include AC and DC circuits, fluid pressures and tank levels through the boat (i.e., fuel, water, blackwater, bilge, etc.). Now most, if not all, of our ISIS sensors for the existing system are inop.

What are your recommendations? Install must be done on the West coast, e.g., Tampa Bay. Thank you!

ISIS is still supported by the manufacturer. A couple of months ago I had Electronics Unlimited (FTL 954-467-2695) address a couple of issues (neither Cat data was showing). They sent one of the DAUs to the manufacturer for rebuilt and fixed a wiring issue on another one.

worth repairing... switching system is going to be $$$ and running new wires difficult

Thanks for the reply! It seems all of our sensors are fouled and they are having a hard time finding replacements on an old system (2005). If we switch to a modern system like Maretron, do you have to pull all new cable? Slooooowly I'm learning!

Not sure what you mean by sensors are fouled.

Isis uses a few Data Aquisition Units (DAUs) that send data via fiber optic to the main processing unit. Any issue is likely with the DAU or loose fiber optic connections. For instance on the 2009 84’ I run we have 7 DAUs

    does the system boot up?
What errors are you getting? DAUx off line? How many

I was tempted in replacing too but it’s just not worth it. Isis uses fiber optic cables between the DAUs (engine room, bilge pumps etc ) and the main computer at the helm. You d have to run new wiring which isn’t an easy job

Thank you for the input, Pascal. Your answers are always knowledgeable on this forum! We only got a verbal report from our management company about the ISIS report. I'll be examining the written report from the ISIS expert that came out which we requested and I'm sure to need to learn more after reading the report! Thanks again and have a great day!

Jennifer, did you end up replacing your ISIS system? We are potentially looking into replacing our ISIS system. We would like something that will work with our new touchscreen GPS chartplotters. Any info would be greatly appreciated! :)

Sorry for anyone involved with these problems.
But this thread did make me smile, at the thought of all those who often fingerpoint at Mutts, as they are nicknamed around here.
After all, it seems that they aren't the only boats on this planet with troubles on electrical components, hard to snake wires, and so on... ;)

Well... at least Lazzaras came with binders of ACCURATE blueprints and diagrams. have you ever seen the wiring on any them?

the ISIS system was state of the art 15 years ago. It is still serviceable but preferably by people who know what they re doing. Problem is that by now few technicians are qualified to work on it and may have to be flown to the vessel which most owners balk at.
