Welcome to Yacht Forums Capt Charlie and nice pics...and if anyone didn't know that the after part of Vango's Hardtop could fold back, no we all know! That is amazing. Is this her heli though or a visiting heli?

Yikes...not much clearance. The pilot must have nerves of steel. Is it really worth the risk????

Well, how i see it, having a heli aboard is an added luxury toy and Vango in herself is a luxury toy so its just an addition if i might say. Her aft deck seem to be built with the heli in mind though. With the hinged hardtop...So for your question Jwenzel...i think its probably worth the risk:)

I hear ya Yachtluver, still, looking at the detailed layout and accounting for the hinged hardtophttp://www.westportyachts.com/yachts/westport164/content/50MGENERALARRANGEMENT.pdf, it looks like we're talking about 20'-23' of sundeck to land on at most. Those blade tips are mighty close to that top. Not sure that would be too reliable a method of getting on/off the boat as it would have to be pretty calm to even attempt a landing or take-off. Any heli-pilots out there wish to comment?

Westport's layout of Vango shows approximately 30 ft. clearance on her Sun Deck.
That looks like a Eurocopter EC120 on the sundeck.

The pilot must be very skilled to land on that tight spot.

Hey Arniev, thanks for the Technical Specs of that Eurocopter. It is indeed a tight fit aboard the Vango. Sorry for those pilots who don't have the nerve. No Job aboard Vango!..
