    This is a "heads-up":

An article from the WorkBoat magazine Web site that may be of interest to large yacht owners, buyers, brokers, charterers, etc. indicates that the U. S. Coast Guard plans to board vessels flying certain flags while in or near U.S. ports.

The article appears within a page of larger content about the USCG. It can be read by addressing:

    http://workboat.yellowbrix.com/page...3&category=empty:inland+waterways&ID=workboat

and doing a "Search" for the sub-title:

Coast Guard Targets Certain Flags of Convenience

Flag states' records for compliance with international security standards are, of course, the driver for this development.
