I new about the ground lines, but always wondered how they don't get snagged in the props as the boats back in. Knew there had to be a system, but the chase line left tied to the pier never occurred to me. I feel like a dummy, but one that just got more educated. Thanks. Like Pascal I too wondered about staying dockside with 15 kt. winds. Around here if I only went out when winds were less than 15 kts I'd have rarely left the dock. Grant you that 20/25kts gets a bit snotty, but that's boating (and what I ran is a lot more affected than a 180'er). I'd think it would mean a day of cruising rather than anchoring and putting the toys out, but I can't see staying dockside just cause of a little wind.
