I have decided to keep my 1995 54 Viking My. This will be my last big to me boat so want to keep on the program of fixing it up and correcting what I don’t like about the boat. I don’t like having to go up and down a ladder to access the swim platform. So I would like to extend the swim platform and add steps. A couple of questions.
Does anyone have a recommendation of a naval architect and a yard that I could work with?
Does anyone know about Fleming Marine Composites out of West Palm and Thunderbolt, GA?
I am trying to avoid adding to the running surface. Boat is currently in Stuart but can move for the right fit. Attached is a picture of what I would like to add and my current transom. Thank you.

I do like these easier staircases to the stern platform. Some great storage can be made inside and under these mods.
I'm not sure I like the loss of back porch real estate from these mods. In your first picture, imagine another foot of deck further aft.
    Just a thought.

Cool thing is thing is that you have a clear picture of what you want based on a similar vessel. I agree that a ladder to the swim platform is a major negative.

Good luck with the project. Please post pics when you make it happen.

Here is what I did on my hatteras. Simple steps made of coosa and simple support with SS tubing and rail fittings. The top step is supported by a 45 degree angled tube to the transom and the other steps are supported by another tube attached to that top step.

each step is supported by a strip of coosa epoxied to the transom
