My wife and I own a 1988 Carver 4207 and are interested in installing an Olsson MFG- ST275 tilt davit dinghy lift on the swim platform. Has anyone installed one of these davits, if so what is your opinion. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I had one of those many years ago on an express I owned. It worked very well. Obviously ensure backing plates are installed at every load point.

There's 2 or 3 companies making this design.

I’ve seen DinghyCaddy in Canada but have not heard of any other.
Do you know the names of any?

Not off the top of my head.
Those were the two I was thinking.

I installed this system on my first boat, An 83 28 foot Searay Sundancer and it worked great for a 10 foot inflatable. you need to remove the engine each time.
Home - Sea Wise Davit System (seawisemarine.com)
The Sea Wise works well as it incorporates a system the allows the OB to stay on board and mechanism fold the engine to a vertical position when the dink is pulled up. A friend of mine has this on his 98 Sea Ray 400 SD and uses it on his 9 foot rib with center console.

Decided not to go with the Weaver system as I wanted to keep the OB mounted. The Sea Wise system uses a mounted pedestal and remains on the platform. I wanted a system that would allow full access to the platform. The Olsson system allows the dinghy to be stowed with the OB mounted as long as the weight capacity is not exceeded. I also like the fact the Olsson system can be lowered into the water leaving the platform open.
I will be going with this system for the ease of use and will post the final results if anyone is interested.

Hey Clovehitch - did you ever get the Olsson mounted on your Carver? Can you post pics/share installation tips? We're looking into that one too... Thanks!

We have not purchased a davit system yet. When we do we will be happy to post more information. In the meantime, we had a new 48” swim platform installed (Platforms Incorporated, Phoenix, AZ), and we are very happy with it.
