the mounting plate for my steering cylinder needs to be replaced, it is basically a steel plate. What would be a good way to coat and protect it? I'm considering POR15 that would be a solution, but what else is there? Has anyone replaced that mounting plate with anything else?

Mine was a rusty mess. I replaced it with aluminum plate. Can't remember where I got it, maybe Grainger? Drilled the same holes, replaced the bolts. Was a fairly easy swap out. No more rust. Been at least 5 years without an issue.

Remember to use Tef-Jel when mating different metals (stainless/aluminum/steel) together.
