There is a yacht on showboats called Spirit of Zopilote or zopilote. IT IS 560FT. plus. I heard it sank. Does anyone have more info. of this yacht.
Spirit of Zopilote is the replacement for the Delta 70, Zopilote owned by Bruce and Joan Kessler, that sank after her circumnavigation, but is reported recovered for a rebuild. Spirit of Zopilote is also built of GRP, this time by Northern Marine, 64 feet and with a similar design by Steve Seaton. Very nice and seaworthy boats.
What the reason that Zopilote sank ???? I have seen photos of that trawler, it was very nice, and looked as if it was built for long offshore passages ...
Thats sad, I realy liked that Yacht...... I engoued the piece that was written on her ith Passage maker magizine
Update on Zopilote History Details: Sank off the airport, in Tongass narrows in Ketchikan, AK circa 1993-94. Towed and hauled to Bar Harbor in Ketchikan, AK by salvage company. Looked pretty sad at that time but someone has rebuilt her and she looks great.
Zopilote in 1985 I only found an old picture, but she was an impressive little 70-footer made for circumnavigations. Which she completed!
