Love my 2017 Sea Ray 510 fly with 8.3 Cummins and pods. Have taken from Jacksonville to Bahamas, Hilton Head and St Augustine many times. This Sea Ray is a solid sea boat and Cummins are solid. May look at new M50 Maritomo at Lauderdale Show, Any candid advice from you experienced Captains? Much appreciated.
Six years ago we moved from the L650 Fly to a Maritimo M64. The styling of the SR was awesome, but outweighed by the poor engineering and build quality. Maritimo makes a great product with well thought out systems, excellent build quality, sea worthiness, range, and engine room space to be envied. Would I ever own another L class Sea Ray? No. Another Maritimo? In a heartbeat.
Much appreciated, Sea Gull. A clear testimonial for Maritimo. Excited to see their new M50 as my slip holds a max of 55 ft. Thanks again.
Brother Scott I have commented before that I am not a great fan of the later big SeaRays. Not because of any safety issues but just poor fit & trim, services access and lack of a long sales edition. I will receive some backlash on these comments but have survived them before. Sadly, I have not serviced any Maritimo vessels that I remember. I do enjoy products from down under (formally a southern Cross service provider). They could really be a great beast but other than looks (IMO poor), I do not have anything to help you with. In my opinion, if your happy with your Ray510, keep it. Changing to Volvo or MTU will really depress you.
