The "Shandor" has been up for sale as was previously reported but now she has a price cut in the asking. She is asking currently 8.975-Million Euros down from 13.75-Million Euros.

    Hi,

That yacht was launched as Margaux Rose although at one stage it was also called Marching Roach by some of the crew, it used to carry a Hot Air Balloon which was flown off the foredeck.

    Margaux Rose

These photos are from 1986 .. that’s yours truly on the bridge wing controls.

The original Captain, now in command of a well-known 90-metre yacht, was the balloonist.

The balloon registration was, rather appropriately, “G-POSH” !

    I really can't recall the name ..

Here's one last "MARGAUX ROSE" balloon shot I kept from that year -
this also appeared in a BOAT INTERNATIONAL feature on the yacht, I think.

It used to look like a real battle to fill the balloon when you were next to us in Falmouth Harbour, Antigua for the Charter Show in '87.

We were also anchored next to her outside Monaco the day Lord Alan Sugar bought her and changed her name to 'Louisianna'. We gave him a round of applause for spending a dollar (he's well known for being keen on holding onto a penny) ;).
