  1. Downeast Style With The Sabre 51 Salon Express
The direction that modern yachting has sailed in might leave members of the heritage, traditional and nostalgic crowd dissatisfied that a bygone era has been lost and might never return. However, there are still a few builders around that continue or endeavour to build in traditional practices and or have cutting-edge factories but still keep designs reminiscent of historic models. Gentleman yacht design, canoe sterns, Downeast, Lobster styles still are in circulation depending on which builder you reference. Sabre Yachts has one of these, the Sabre 51 Salon Express.
  2. D espite the name, the Sabre 51 Salon Express is actually 57.9-feet long (17.60-meter) with a beam of 15.11-feet (4.85-meters) and a slim draft drawing just 4.1-feet or (1.24-meters). 2271 LT of fuel can be stored onboard for your jaunts down the coast. Although it would be a great boat to utilize for the weekend, the Sabre 51 is not relegated to this bracket. These vessels are built to CE Category B, NMMA, ABYC, and USCG standards.
  3. Onboard you will find a three-cabin layout with two of the cabins being proper double berths. All three are located on the lower deck where there is a midships full-beam cabin, a forward V-berth as well as a smaller cabin located further aft. All three cabins have their owner bathroom facilities. The interior is a satin-finished Cherry wood. Owners who knew of the path the Sabre 48 Salon Express carved for well over a decade understood that the bigger 51 platform would expand on a proven hull. In fact, the 48 Salon Express delivered over 200 hulls.
  4. Despite the Downeast styling this yacht is as modern and current as any model in its category. The equipment onboard is just as modern with twin 21-inch Garmin screens that form the displays for the helm area. The propulsion is also modern as Sabre Yachts utilizes podded drives. Twin Volvo Penta D8 IPS800s (two 600 horse power) are the standard setup. Top speed is easily above the 30-knot mark with this setup. The 51 Salon Express is a coastal express cruiser that has been designed with classic flowing lines. With the Volvo engine package, this vessel has performance and seakeeping to keep your cruising expedition going without issue.
