According to an article in todays newspapers, King Juan Carlos has to sell his yacht “Fortuna”. The royal palace announced, that the operation of the yacht does not match with the need of cost cutting. The 41m yacht is estimated for € 21Mio. Fortuna was given as a present to the king from a group of Balearic business men, so that he spends his holidays in this area. It was hardly used in recent times, the last time in August 2012. If Fortuna is going to be sold, it first goes to the Spanish state, which then decides about further proceedings.
€21 million is what was reported at the time it was built as the cost of the yacht. The real cost was much higher, and the price today is much lower than that.

Hi, If that is the case maybe he could organise a Great White Elephant Hunt. Hunters could be put in a dinghy and the Fortuna speed straight at them, at 500K a shot it wouldn't take long to reach the monetary target. Once these hunters had whetted their appetites there would be plenty more things that they could shoot at for the right price too. Some rather large and completely unnecessary and unusable airports spring to mind.

Hi, That one plus one where the runway is to narrow. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...-runway-to-be-dug-up-to-meet-regulations.html All built with money that the local economy could ill afford. From what I have read it seems those in charge had rather inflated egos and feelings of self importance, these when coupled with relatives in the construction and banking industry were a recipe for financial disaster for many and riches for a few.
