New-Model Introductions Push Hatteras to Record Sales

NEW BERN, N.C. (March 1, 2005) -- Hatteras concluded a record sales campaign at the 2005 Miami International Boat Show, thanks to a well-received selection of new models. Spurred by the debut of the 64 Motor Yacht and announcements of the forthcoming 64- and 75-foot Convertibles, demand for Hatteras product escalated to a new high for the annual Miami sales event.

“We are thrilled to have experienced a 41-percent increase in total revenue over last year’s Miami Boat Show,” said Bryant Phillips, senior vice president of sales and marketing. “This success follows closely on the heels of a very successful Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, wrapping up our 2004/2005 prime selling season in an outstanding manner.”

Phillips added that the show represented a multifaceted success story for the company. “We saw orders across the product line for customers here in the U.S. and abroad,” he said. “These sales will bolster our already strong backlog as well as increase our reach into important international markets.”

Hatteras debuted its newest product, the 64 Motor Yacht, on the boat show’s opening day and enjoyed sales of several units. Two upcoming flybridge models, the 64 Convertible and 75 Convertible, were also successfully previewed to dealers and customers at the show. These new product introductions come fast on the heels of previously successful introductions within the past year, including the 68 Convertible and 80 Motor Yacht Sky Lounge.

“Hatteras has enjoyed a long history of setting the tone in the motor yacht and sportfishing industries,” said Phillips. “Our current fast pace of new product development, combined with an improving economy, will keep us in the driver’s seat for years to come.”
