Looking for these plastic pieces for the ladder to the bridge. Does anyone know where I can get them?
I need some too. Searched way too much today and figured out they are called Radius Tube Connectors Could only find black and mostly from overseas. But these are local and may work: - 206202 Radius Tube Connectors - Price: $1.50 - Factory RV Surplus - 1611 W Bristol St, Elkhart, IN 46514 (800) 325-1461 (574) 262-3327 1" is probably the size? Let me know if you have any luck searching.
Hi guys, Did any of you call POST to see if they had any info ? I don't know what they know, I'm curious if they could help is all.
I was hoping Worton Creek could help you out. Hopefully, some Post owners will chime in and have some suggestions. Good luck!
These would work but there is an insert needed for the center, i'm going to try and reuse my old centers.. - 206202 Radius Tube Connectors - Price: $1.50 - Factory RV Surplus - 1611 W Bristol St, Elkhart, IN 46514 (800) 325-1461 (574) 262-3327
ladder parts Here is my reply with regards to calling Post, unless you are giving them a big refit job or laid down a healthy deposit on building a new boat they don't give a flying XF&%$. I do not like doing business with a company that I have to chase and make multiple phone calls to just to get a return phone call. If your boat was not produced within the last few years they have no parts inventory and a limited list of vendors who produced things for Post in the past. This is my experience with Post when I attempted to do business with them this past spring and summer. My advice to them is if you are going to start a business you need to do it with a full steam ahead attitude and follow up with any potential customers needs, and treat them like you really want their business. I am happy to be a Post owner but have realized that if I need anything for my boat I will search the net on my own and track down what I may need.
I was wondering how Worton would do with regards to customer service. I kind of thought they would take that attitude for handling smaller requests for info or parts. So either go big or go home seems to be their business model. When Post was open in Mays Landing, my buddy would call and they had all the info and suggestions for his 1979 46' and could not have been any nicer. Well, it looks like those days are gone.
With this economy and many people getting out of boating, these marinas and boat manufacturers need to evaluate how they do business. I have always noticed how many of these companies always try to get into your pockets and doing business with them almost seem advesarial at best. They need to treat everyone who walks through their door with respect, and treat them how they would want to be treated if they were in that position. Don't look at this potential customer as an open check book. The days where you could abuse a dock or service customer are long gone because there are plenty of marinas with open slips. They should have the mind set of getting some piece of the pie is better then no piece of the pie. I have heard some marinas in the Long Island area tacking on more than 20 percent to repair bills when people had other contractors do repairs, many of the marinas are not qualified to work on everything, and shouldnt. These people have become extremely selfish, and what really pisses me off when they come up with this holier than thou bull **** mean while many have non us residents working for them paying cash under the table and doing business by the seat of their pants, but when you come through the door - look out. They will charge you tax; but not pay it in return after they collect it. ITS ALL ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I am done for now.
Getting back to the original topic... I see what you are saying with no insert. Some of the centers I have are stripped and that is my issue. Though the discoloring looks bad too. Hopefully the centers fit inside these. Maybe I can find a way to fix a nut to the center piece to have it tighten? Or these will fit in tight enough that screwing into this connector itself will be enough to hold it all together? Glue a nut on the inside to help hold it together? Doubt that will hold.
When I said no luck with calling Post i did not mean that they didn't try to help. I got a call back from John the owner telling me that they just don't have information on a boat this old and he would try and find the build sheet with vendors and get back to me. I do understand where you are coming from thinking they only want to deal with big jobs or new sales. But the new company is still young and I'm sure they are learning everyday. I don't think that its because they don't want to help,I think they will try if they have the information they will. I'm sure they get lots of calls and not alot of sales,I know from experience how aggravating that can be. My company does diesel conversions and i get at least one call a week that last for half hour or more from someone asking a million questions that I will never see a dime from, but I answer there questions and offer advice. Its just part of doing business. Maybe you can cut them some slack. Think about what would happen if you called a car manufacture and asked about a car they built over 30 years ago, they would hang up on you! The new Post company is at least willing to take the time to talk to us. They are trying to make it in a tough industry in a tough economy. I wish them nothing but the best and will be placing an order as soon as i win the lottery.....
The centers fit inside the black radius connectors. if you need new centers anyone with a lathe should be able to make some for you. I think all of my centers are ok, but if i have to make some i will be sure to make extras if you're interest red
I think a key to success in this industry is balancing new production while maintianing customer support and brand loyalty. Viking seems to be the leader in this area, they have an awesome high end new product and have great customer support and crazy brand loyalty.
Did you ever find the parts you need? I shortend my ladder by installing a cockpit fridge box. So I have some parts if needed.
You can also use these: Marine Boat Rail Fitting 90 Degree Hinged Tee Universal Stainlessl Steel 1" | eBay
They use the exact same item on RV ladders, some of them have a blind nut inside, some are just drilled through. I think you can get them from Northwest Trailer Parts or Coast Dist. Both have websites so Google is your friend.
Egg Harbor is right up there too. I posted on the Post Facebook page a few weeks ago as to if a project boat like mine would be welcome at the rendzvous, no response at all.
