    I read two conflicting news reports regarding Platinum Yachts today. One saying that they have "ceased trading indefinitely" and that "all staff contracts have been terminated"

    Giving a main reason as the ownership of Dubai World rather than any financial issues at the yard itself.

    And another stating that they had merged with Shiplift in order to cut costs. It had definitely not closed.

    Was wondering if anyone could shed any further light?

    It's sad to see another victim of the "financial crisis"

    Can't shed any direct light on this situation other than observe that Platinum Yachts ads are still running in YachtForums.
