Overnighting a Viking 54C or comparable on sea anchor?

    Seriously considering adding a sea anchor for overnighting in the northern Gulf of Mexico, purpose would be to keep bow into seas and slow down drift, how hard are they to deploy and retrieve? Should I go as large as ParaTech's site recommends as I won't use it as a storm anchor? Thoughts/opinions?

    They're very easy to deploy and take in. They should have a line on the backside (bottom) of the cone, you pull it by that and it closes up pretty quickly and you pull it right in.

    There are if conditions stay good. But talking to and reading about people who have used them when conditions get bad, it sounds like they can be a handful to retrieve.
