I should know this, but I forgot: 2 things happens when ya get older, first ya loose the memory, the second thing that happens,... I don't remember... What is the airdraft under the I-95 bridge up the New River? Got 2 clients wanting to move their sailboats West of I-95 and they asked the above question...One is a Tayana 37, 53 foot mast, the other guy is a CSY 44, 62 foot mast. ????? Beer is on me.
I don't know exactly as I always run motoryachts and not sailboats. But I know it is over 53 feet, but believe it is under 62'. 56-58' if memory serves me right depending on tide. I may be mistaken and a quick phone call to any of the yards west of the bridge should be able to tell you
Air draft under the I95 New River bridge is 55 feet. The newly-built FEC RR bridge had to meet that spec: http://www.arema.org/eseries/script...library/2001_Conference_Proceedings/00056.pdf BTW, I like mine in cold green bottles.
Ya are on...Only green or brown bottles at my dock..Becks or Warsteiner. (I got a real German beer-belly, not some red-neck hamburger 'n fries belly) Aye, this is the I-95 with the new RR bridge alongside it. First time I went under the new 17th street bridge on my boat I was a bit nervous..The boards said 53 feet or so, my boat's mast is 47' above the water, then ya add a couple of feet for the VHF antenna, another couple of feet for Joe 6-pack coming under the bridge at full speed in his Sea-Ray throwing a wake that will bounce ya up and down +/- 2 feet...Not much left for clearance. Thanks for the responses, I will tell my CSY 44 guy to forgetabout it...
