    Hi All,

I've reviewed the discussion around Welland Canal commercial transit options but I'm curious if there is a similar option near the Sault St. Marie Port of Entry into the US? I realize everything will likely change by the spring but not yet sure if that will make it harder or easier :)

    tks

You might want to send a PM to Rodger to see if he has info on that.

Many Canadian's living in the Sarina and Windsor Ontario area store their boats on the American side of Detroit River in the winter time.
Last spring the Canadian's would hire an American captain to bring their boat to a local marina in Ontario.
The captain would have to fill out the attached forums and give Canada Customs forty eight hours notice prior to their arrival in Ontario, the captain would meet customs at the marina to clear boat into Canada and then get on the American chase boat and return to the American side.
The same Canada Custom forums are used to transit the Welland Canal.
The captain and his crew are exempt from quarantine as this is considered a commercial adventure.
The owner and family are not allowed on boat to transit canal.
They would get of in Buffalo NY and get back on in the Niagara River in Youngstown NY.
If the owner of the boat dose not have his own captain and crew he would have to hire a local captain in Buffalo to take his

boat through the canal. Canda Customs #1.PNG Candad Border #2.PNG

Hi Rodger and thanks for the reply.

Does it work the same for moving a Canadian boat from a Canadian marina down to a US Marina...just different forms?....and would it be better to hire a Canadian captain/crew to deliver it or a US captain/crew to come and get it and move it south?

    tks
