  1. Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) 2025 Opening Day
Today marks the opening day of the 2025 edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). The show this year has started on October 29th and will run through to the 2nd of November for its 66th edition. The show is bringing some of the world’s grandest yachts, new hospitality offerings, and the highly anticipated reopening of Pier Sixty-Six. Recognized as the largest in-water boat show.
  2. Yesterday YF published the top largest yachts slated to be at the show this year 60-meter and above but there are lots of yachts under the 60-meter mark attending the show for the first time or making their international premieres. Other standouts include "Hemisphere" - the Pendennis 145 sailing catamaran, once the world's largest sailing catamaran-. There is "Gene Machine" the distinctive Amels LE180 alongside her support vessel "Gene Chaser" demonstrating the balance between family cruising and scientific exploration. You will also find the 50-meter Heesen "ELA" there on the docks.
  3. Some yachts are making their debuts at the FLIBS and these include the BGM75 (Bluegame 100'), a catamaran from Bluegame Yachts – a Sanlorenzo brand. It is a yacht that blends the volume of a 100-footer with the efficiency of a 60-footer. Cheoy Lee is debuting their new 130 Explorer named "Juanky". It is a steel-hulled expedition yacht built for range and bluewater adventure. You will also find an offering from the Italian brand AB Yachts with their AB110, a high-performance sport yacht capable of speeds over 40-knots with sleek Italian styling.
  4. American builder Delta Marine has unveiled a 48-meter "Wellness-Focused" design for exploration. It is called Project 'Discovery' and is a 47.5-meter yacht that is presently under construction and once completed is expected to be available on the charter market. Construction will be steel for the hull for greater integrity on her long passages.
  5. On the interior the yacht presents comfortable and spacious living for her future guests. Creating the atmosphere on the interior is Netherlands-based studio Dasha Moranova. Accommodation onboard will be for up to 12 guests in 5 cabins. Some of the cabins are slated to be flexible with a VIP suite that can combine two cabins for the flexibility potential of double charter principals. The interior design is generally of a light palette but alternates cream and sandy tones with darker colours. There are Scandi-elements to the interior.
  6. Another design that has been announced on opening day of the 2025 FLIBS is called 'Sentinel' by Shadowcat® It is a large catamaran platform that is more akin to the shadow support vessels that we currently know on the water like "Hodor" though Sentinel is proposed to be 71-meters in length. The vessel also takes security to a higher level with this being an active portion of focus to the design. In fact, the yacht has been designed in collaboration with international security specialist Allmode.
  7. The proposal is to blend many modes of integrated surveillance. That network it will have will be able to deploy both autonomous and crewed drones to enhance situational awareness around the vessel both aerial and on the surface. Utilizing the regular radar along with optical, and thermal detection systems the yacht always has appropriate knowledge and awareness of its surroundings at all times. The yacht is large enough to carry two helipads. The main helipad has a garage at the end of it.
  8. Baglietto has a DOM133 unit at the show this year which marks the first time that the said model has been in U.S waters at a show. The specific unit in question is the 40.9-meter "Jules" and she is a pretty new build having been delivered in 2024. The exterior of the vessel is by Stefano Vafiadis while the interior is the work of Leonardo Santi. She can carry up to 10 guests and be served by 9 crew members. Built in aluminium the interior has a volume of 411 GT. She can run at up to 17-knots when wide open using her twin CAT diesels.
