  1. Opening Day News For 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival
Today marks the opening day of the 2025 edition of the Cannes Yachting Festival being held between Vieux Port (for the new boats) and Port Canto ( for sailing yachts). This year's show runs from September 9th to the 14th. As usual there are quite a few new yachts making their debuts and also new models being introduced to the public officially for the first time. Azimut unveiled the 27M Magellano just before the show started. Sunseeker unveiled the Sunseeker 40M along with the Sunseeker 134, SanLorenzo updated on the new 74Steel. Maiora unveiled the design for the new M|30.
  2. The Magellano 27 is one of the latest offerings from Azimut and represents a further departure from the Azimut styling of the past. Demonstrating this philosophy, the Magellano 27 is now in its third generation for the Magellano series. It is a design that has been further refined over previous models that we have seen from the builder. Jarkko Jämsen is responsible for the exterior design of this one. “It’s a boat that in 10, 15, 20 years will look absolutely gorgeous and as modern as it is right now,” said Azimut Yachts' head of product design, Federico Lantero.
  3. Clients are continuing to demand more and more space onboard even on these smaller platform yachts. Designers have to continue to be clever with how they maximize physical volumes and also the illusion of greater volume. For the interior design work, AMDL Circle is responsible and it marks their foray into yacht design work. They are mainly an architecture studio. While the design was unveiled at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival, the actual vessel will make its debut at the 2026 show.
  4. British builder Sunseeker revealed a couple of designs. One of them is called the Sunseeker 40M. The design is different for Sunseeker but it is aligning with what some of the Italian builders have been launching in this 40-meter segment. The exteriors are for the first time by Francesco Paszkowski. "We are delighted to be partnering with Francesco Paszkowski, a designer whose reputation and portfolio are internationally recognised," said Andrea Frabetti, Sunseeker CEO. "This collaboration embodies our commitment to pushing the boundaries of superyacht design, delivering our clients exceptional craftsmanship, style and innovation." Further details on this model will be revealed in the future.
  5. Another new model is the Sunseeker 134 (also another 40-meter model). Despite being in the 40-meter range, the design is quite different to the Sunseeker 40M. In fact, it is closer in design to past Sunseeker yacht models. A blend between the Sunseeker 130 and 155 models with some distinctive new features. Apparently two hulls are already under negotiation. The exterior is familiar but what can be done with the interior and what is being offered will be appealing to European customers.
  6. The beam is approximately 7.94-meters which is offering a 26-foot width to customers. As depicted below, the appearance of space in prime guest areas like the main saloon will be noticed. Even with the bulwarks outboard of the main saloon, the designers notched-out to improve the lateral/beamward views from the saloon. The interior proposal is formal yet relaxing.
  7. SanLorenzo updated on some news concerning their in-build 74STEEL. That vessel started out at the 72STEEL and was earmarked for 2026 but the yard is officially calling it the 74STEEL and confirms that the first hull will be launched in 2025. The first hull in the 74STEEL is expected to hit the water in October according to CEO Massimo Perotti. Zuccon International and Francesco Paszkowski are collaborating with SanLorenzo on the design. The internal volume is estimated to be 1,900 GT. This first hull was sold in 2021 is is now the largest build by the yard.
  8. Maiora unveiled the M|30 just before the show opened. This is the latest 30-meter design and builds on what has been seen from the yard with the Maiora 30. Familiar names like Quartostile and Acube Design are working on the new vessel. The M|30 is currently under construction and the first hull will be launched in the Summer of 2026.
  9. On the interior Acube Design is responsible and features a mature palette along with organic shapes and structures leading to a free-flowing aesthetic. Customers may choose to have up to 12 aboard this vessel in 5 cabins but most will likely go with a five-cabin layout that sleeps 10 guests. The layout will see the master suite on the main deck with the guest cabins on the lower deck. The beam measures approximately 7.5-meters.
