I read that Y-706's keel was laid recently. Probably by early next year we should be seeing something? Anyone has anyword on the design or any other information at all?

Wasn't there a thing in Boat International about designs/designers for 2008 a few months ago that said H2 Yacht Design were working on Y706?

Well I have gone to the H2 Yacht Design Portfolio on their website and have seen some nice designs. According to Bdordrecht, the 706 is supposed to be 86.37M LOA. The closest project to that length is the 90M design but that has a knife bow like Aviva and looks nothing like what oceAnco would build.. but you never know. Feadship have come up with Predator which looks nothing like a conventional Feadship design. The other one that looks something like is 115M but I don't think that is it.

Here is a link to the 90M design..

As far as I know, the 90m is not 706.

I never said it was. It was just because it was said that the 706 is supposed to be 86M, the closest design was the 90M one but I never said it was.

i just saw the desing of the 706, unfortunately i can't post the design on this forum but i can say that the 706 wont be anything like the 90m design :) it has no sun deck, only a skylounge, upper, main, lower and bottom deck. it also has a pool like the alfa nero

As said, the Y-706 will be 86 M long with a highly optimized hull for ocean going endeavors. The welded steel hull will meet the faired aluminum superstructure to create one very large and voluminous interior. According to oceAnco, the 706 is hull is under construction.

The Y-706, design is a combination of all the design features that went before in the Y-700 new generation oceAnco series. However, there is a strong resemblance to the Y-704. Strong and bold, this yacht will surely make a statement where ever she goes in the future.

    Y-706 design

Now that the revised computer generated renderings are on the website, Y-706 looks more to be a slightly larger Alfa Nero.

A Dutch tv show (RTL Boulevard) reported that Steven Spielberg was seen in Alblasserdam visiting Oceanco (He's in Holland, was in Amsterdam but he said he wasn't here for a movie).
I don't have a TV, but I believe RTL Boulevard is a sort of gossip programme.
Not sure how reliable they are.
But Mr Spielberg is very recognizable, so if he was seen at the yard.....who knows.

The Vibrant Curiosity had to move on to clear the road for the 706 hull.
