Today I received this e-mail from a new member… Upon visiting her employer's website “Relevance Web”, I found an extract in their mission statement… Why am I sharing this with everyone? Because YF has been spammed by Bluewater Yachting multiple times. Wanna see an example? Google “Bluewater Yachting” and you will find dozens of promotional postings in various forums. Apparently, "Claire" is a new employee with Relevance Web Marketing and has not learned how to post in a forum yet, so... she contacted me to learn how she can spam YachtForums! Claire, you've got my vote for Idiot of the Year. Congrats! To anyone looking for a charter company in Antibes, France... AVOID Bluewater Yachting! ***
Perhaps this is when we should "shoot the messenger", I guess Peter, Phillip and John at Bluewater are in good faith....
Claire isn't the first. There have been multiple messengers. I have banned each of them. With the number of Bluewater promotional posts all over the web, I'm certain the principles of the firm are well aware of the tactics being used.
You may be right Carl, I just know how many "Claire's" who are approaching me to be more visible on the web...
Hi, I tend to share Lars position here. Having known Peter Bennett approx 16 yrs through my wife I would say he is a serious and genuine player in the business. I would also go as far as to say that: The job title should be enough to spark attention the rest should speak up for itself, someone or something commerial purporting to be from the SOF and has a Spanish Mobile No as a contact should be immediately treated with the utmost suspicion
Sounds fishy all around... a "Search Engine Consultant" who doesn't know enough about the internet to figure out how a forum works?
Companies that engage in web promotion hire anyone with a computer and an internet connection. It makes no difference where they are based. The employee is not on site. Battling this garbage has become a full time job. I don't have any respect for companies that hire spam spewers.
