  1. INNOVATIVE NIGHT VISION SYSTEM WINS GOOD DESIGN AWARD

Every year, the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design recognizes the world's most impressive industrial and graphic design firms and manufacturers with its GOOD DESIGN Awards. Created by Night Vision Technologies (NVTi) and Product Development Technologies, the 5000/6000 Series Multiple Sensor Vision System recently won their GOOD DESIGN Award in electronics. NVTi president and CEO Robert Schnee made the announcement.

Established in 1950, the GOOD DESIGN Award acknowledges designers and manufacturers for advancing ground-breaking product concepts. Out of hundreds of applicants from 25 countries, a prestigious jury of architects, designers and authorities select the most innovative products in 18 categories.

"Our goal was to deliver the most robust, function-packed systems available, while making a statement consistent with the sophisticated tastes of our market," said Schnee. "We have definitely achieved just that."

The latest in multiple sensor technology, the 5000/6000 series utilizes a thermal imager with a range of new field view options. They offer a high-resolution 312x zoom color, an ultra low lux and optional light intensification camera.

All units feature a hermetically sealed, pressurized housing, a 360° continuous pan and directional indicator. Gyro-stabilization, object tracking and IP control come standard on the 6000 series.

Optional on the 5000 series, the IP feature allows for remote access. A secure login permits users to view and control the camera through the internet from any location. A modern proportional joystick and backlit controller simplify control of the units. A Cat-5 cable provides control from distances up to 3,000 ft.

Headquartered in Irving, Texas, NVTi designs and manufactures superior night/day vision systems for navigation, safety, security and surveillance. These units provide marine craft and land-based operators working under unfavorable light and environmental conditions with early hazard detection.
