  1. SR77 Flagship Unveiled By Windy Boats
The latest in ultra-chase/day boats from Windy Boats is the SR77 which was recently unveiled to the public. The yard continues to build-out this part of their lineup going larger and larger each time. The last iteration of the SR line was the SR60 and before that the SR52. These vessels of the SR line are typically utilized as a yacht tender on very large yachts or as a chase boat to a yacht and a stand-alone yacht as well. Dimensions include a length of 23.98-meters with a 6.00-meter beam and a draft that is just 1.03-meters.
  2. The SR77 is an evolution from the SR60 and should not be simply seen as a larger SR60. Its Malcolm Mckeon design is also more sculptural while still retaining some of the key features of the previous generation. The superstructure for example is similar to that on the SR60 but it is more sculpted and suggests further aerodynamic properties and functionality. Like the SR60, the sliding glass panels that allow the cockpit area to be opened a bit more or completely closed, that concept is continued on the new SR77. On the SR60 this appears to be an option where owners can choose not to have it and allow under the hardtop to be open-air with protection from the forward windshield. Rather than the glazing sliding towards the middle of the structure as seen on the SR60 the SR77 slides the three-panels aft giving more open space and also a more aesthetic solution.
  3. The SR60 doesn't have any hull windows however, it appears that Windy is introducing them on the SR77 model and with the concealed type as seen on many Italian builds in recent years. Onboard, Windy also appears to be giving owners some power as it relates to options for arrangement. Below deck, the interior can be configured with three or four cabins depending on the use of the boat. Given the window placement in the hull the guest cabins are forward of the midships area with any crew area in the midships and then the technical space further aft.
  4. Windy Boats are all performance-oriented and so the SR77 being powered by dual MAN 12V 1800 horse power engines linked to waterjets. Alternatively, the yacht can be fitted with triple Volvo Penta IPS 1350 engines. Either way the typical onboard fuel tankage for the SR77 will be 8,800 LT and 1,000 LT for freshwater. Windy suggests the range is 600 nautical miles although did not say at what speed. The SR60 typically is capable of 800 nautical miles at 25-knots. Naval Architecture and Exterior design are the work of Malcolm McKeon while the interior is bespoke to the owner.
