  1. Hakvoort 45-meter Project 'Adur' Progress
Dutch yacht builder Hakvoort Yachts has been working on their 45-meter yacht known under project name 'Adur'. The last time YF wrote an article on this project was back in 2018 and now we can report back to with actual construction progress. The all-aluminium yacht is built on a hull designed by Van Ossanen which features a HULL VANE designed to increase fuel efficiency. This is an appendage we have seen before on one of Heesen's previous builds. The exterior design is by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects.
  2. The keel was laid at the end of 2018 in December and the emergence from the construction shed is the first time the world is seeing the aluminium project in its bare semi-completed state. Even in this state, one can see this is a totally different look for a vessel that will bare the Hakvoort badge. Below is an image taken by Tom Van Ossansen and should convey the current progression of the build.
  3. Onboard accommodation is expected to be for eight guests in a four-cabin layout. The master is full-beam located on the forward main-deck and three further cabins for guests are on t he lower deck. Powerful twin MTU 12V 4000 M93L will power this vessel to an impressive 26.5-knots but the range figures are also decent at a continuous 12-knots promising 3,800-plus nautical mile range. The owners are being very hands-on during the build process and expect to have their new yacht by the Spring of 2021.
