  1. Van der Valk BeachClub 660 No.2 In Build
In early March, YF alerted you to the existence of some new craft in the works from Dutch builder Van der Valk, the BeachClub series 660 and 600. Both are under construction at the moment and the first BeachClub 660 has been sold and is expected to be delivered in July. However, there is a second hull in this new 660 series that is in build which is expected to be completed by the Spring of 2020.
  2. These aluminium craft offer a new thought process to the term beach club on smaller craft at this end of the market. There are not many vessels that can boast a proper relaxing area in the traditional beach club region of a yacht in this size bracket. The extra amount of glazing in the area is a signature part of the Cor d Rover design and definitely lets guests feel at-one with the environment. The BeachClub area also can open up through the sliding glass door on the transom and allow direct access to the swim platform. In the arrangement seen in the render below, the area is definitely a comfortable lounge, almost like a mini saloon.
  3. A single staircase allows access from the swim platform to the aft main deck. The use of the Volvo Penta IPS 1050 setup saves alot of space in the aft area of the yacht and perhaps allowed this much room to be available for the BeachClub concept. The IPS arrangement from Volvo Penta do not require a whole traditional engine room. Top speed with these should be in the region of 30-knots. It is believed there is a three cabin layout of the BeachClub 660 with an owners suite and two doubles.
