  1. Second JFA 'Long Island' 85 Sailing CAT Nears Delivery
French sail yacht builder JFA recently published photos of their second unit in the 'Long Island' 85 sailing CAT series under sail and testing. The yacht is nearing completion and should be soon handed over. The yacht was constructed using aluminium for the hulls and composite materials for the superstructure. The catamaran sloop has Naval Architecture by Marc Lombard and interior design by Franck Darnet.
  2. 26.25-meters is her LOA and the maximum beam is nearly 12-meters (11.93-meters). The draft as you would expect on this size craft is not too deep at 2.24-meters. The interior is light and airy using Walnut and Oak as the main timbers. Up to nine guests can be accommodated in two doubles and two twins in the hulls and a main deck master suite. As many as four crew can be onboard.
  3. The displacement comes in just under 60 tonnes. She is a sailing yacht and carries approximately a 200 square-meter sail plan. When the wind is light or motoring is needed, a pair of Yanmar 6LY3 diesels each at 380 horsepower can push this yacht to 12-knots but 10-knots is perhaps the cruising figure. The flybridge is completely covered by a hardtop with solar panels integrated.
