News: Otam Delivers 85GTS "Cara Montana"

85GTS "Cara Montana" Delivered By Otam

The first 85GTS yacht built by Italian builder Otam has been delivered in quick time to her owner. The yacht was launched in May and has already completed sea trials. This is the first hull in the new 85GTS model and her name is "Cara Montana" and you can expect to see her at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September. The yacht was constructed in composite materials for a strong and lightweight body to ensure her performance isn't compromised. The following images are by Yasu Kojima.

Speaking of performance, this yacht actually exceeded its top speed on sea trials. Cara Montana is powered by two MTU 16V M94 marine diesels each rated at around 2,600 horse power. Her top speed was pegged at 45-knots but the yard suggests she eclipsed this figure on trials. Cruising is still a blistering 38-knots. Those MTUs are connected to Arneson surface drives.

While her exterior is designed Otam in collaboration with Umberto Tagliavini her interior is by Joseph Dirand Architecture. Below deck she has accommodation in two master size suites. One located midships and the other in the bow. Crew are also accommodated in the bow but naturally have separate access to their area. Her major international debut will be at the Cannes Yachting Festival.
