OceAnco Delivers 90-meter Superyacht Y717 (ex Project Shark)

The 90-meter superyacht that was launched at Project 'Shark' is now being referred to as Y717 according to OceAnco, as they announced on her delivery. The yacht features powerful yet graceful lines by Luiz de Basto Studio of Miami and an interior that is as stunning by Italian firm Nuvolari & Lenard. This yacht has many cool features but one of them has to be for the owner. It is common that on larger yachts an entire deck may be devoted to the owner. It is the same concept on this yacht but one key difference is the amount of glass utilized as well as the near full isolation of the deck. There are no walkaround outside areas and the forward end is a secluded terrace/patio with jacuzzi and ample deck space.

Y717 features a large pool on the aft upper deck as well for guests to use and a central staircase leads to the aft main deck. From an elevated position we can see why the project name for this vessel was Shark. The white overhangs around the exterior of the bridge symbolize the head of the hammerhead shark. The mast is also designed to appear as the dorsal fin of the shark. These facets along with the dark colours and contrasting white result in a bold and strong stance in the water. Her groundbreaking design and technological advances bear the unmistakable DNA of an Oceanco: she reflects the latest advances in glass technology and she is the first yacht in the Netherlands to be given the official Lloyd’s Register Integrated Bridge System (IBS) notation and designation.

The interior was designed in concert with the exterior concept. According to Nuvolari Lenard, the owners stipulated no dark timbers preferring the delicate and sophisticated use of alternative materials and finishes such as fine fabrics, wallpaper, 3D lacquer and lots of upholstery. The interior woods include different shades of sycamore fiddleback, small details in tinted Brazilian carballo wood, and the copious use of maple bleached gray. Other accents include bas-reliefs; metallic surfaces and 3D cut leather panels. "The main theme is nature, starting from blossom cascades, and moving to feathers, fish, waves and so on," says Valentina Zannier, chief interior designer and junior partner at Nuvolari Lenard. "It is all nicely integrated in a fluent feeling that would make every guest feel very comfortable in any room, any time of the day. The richness is almost invisible because it’s expressed by the quality of the details and the tasteful combination of complete bespoke finishes."
