  1. 125XP Motor Yacht By Ocea Unveiled
Ocea 125XP, The Explorer...that's the latest design coming from French yard Ocea Yachts. Better known for their commuter styled yachts, this company is expanding further and further and looking to capture some attention in the explorer market. The yard is working closely with Joubert-Nivelt Design and Borella Art Design to bring this yacht to life.
  2. The yacht doesn't only have the explorer look, it is an explorer designed to travel far and explore far-flung destinations with its decent 5,000 nautical mile range. The high bulbous bow ensures the Ocea 12XP can tackle much of what the ocean can throw at it. The hull is also going to be Ice Class, allowing it to travel to destinations like Spitsbergen and Greenland. The general arrangement of the yacht is spread across four decks with the superstructure designed forward of the midship area. That leaves the aft main deck open for the storage of toys, equipment and exploration vehicles fit for its exploration credentials.
  3. The interior is light and airy with emphasis on pops of color for visual interest. Borella Art Design agency is responsible for the decor and arrangement of the interior. Soft colors and materials are envisioned to be used throughout the interior to keep the atmosphere comfortable for long voyages to remote and unsupported areas of the world. Koto, a creamy white African wood with a flecked appearance, and Louro Faia, a South-American lacewood with a meshed structure, along with wool and silk rugs, chromework, supple full-grain leathers, Cristal Lalique decorative items, and the rest.
  4. Light greens, whites and cream dominate this space fitted with a bar. Would you believe this is on an explorer yacht? The perceptions of what an explorer yacht should have on the interior have come a long way evolving into the luxurious alcoves as well as cavernous spaces existing onboard today's builds and designs. Even down to the lighting, recessed LED and designer artistic chandelier pieces, these facets are luxurious in their appeal.
  5. Accommodation onboard will be an important factor in making an explorer design successful especially one that is seriously being put forward for a client to build. The specifications suggest that eight guests will be able to sleep onboard along with seven crew members. The master suite is forward on the main deck level towards the bow. The other cabins are located on the lower deck.
  6. This yacht won't be a speedster as she is focused on lengthy travels. As we previously mentioned, the anticipated range is 5,000 nautical miles at a continuous 10-knots. Cruising speed is set at 12-knots and the maximum pace is 13-knots. Her principle dimensions are an overall length of 38-meters, a beam of 8.50-meters and a draft of 2.50-meters.
  7. Tender storage is primarily going to be on the aft main deck where a custom davit/cradle system will store as well as deploy and retrieve the main tender onboard. The main tender according to Ocea is going to be a well-sheltered craft with an LOA of up to 9.00-meters. The rest of the deck is left for other RIB tenders and PWCs or equipment. Lightweight craft can be stored on the foredeck as well but space there is limited. The Ocea 125XP is looking for an owner and if a contract is inked, that client can have this yacht by 2020.
