  1. Design For New Numarine 30XP Hybrid
News out of the ongoing 2022 edition of the Cannes Yachting Festival is that there is a new model to be added to Turkish builder Numarine's XP series. It is being called the 30XP Hybrid. This new vessel sits right between the 26XP and 32XP but has the added benefit of being diesel-electric in propulsion. The implementation of this will be the first for Numarine as they recently announced work is already underway in terms of preparation to build. In fact, three units have been sold already. The molds are being worked on currently.
  2. Not only is the 30XP Hybrid the first for Numarine using diesel-electric but also the design is a bit different from what we have seen from the builder. The usual suspect is Can Yalman who is behind the exterior design. The vessel offers a very flat profile overall thanks to a minimal raised-pilothouse. It also aids in having a large sun deck area which compared to other 30-meters is grand. Numarine also proposes to cover the space from above with a lengthy hardtop stretching aft as standard. However, it perhaps is an optional feature and can be replaced by removable sun awnings.
  3. The 30XP Hybrid isn't just offering more dynamism and option in her propulsion but in terms of exterior social spaces Numarine has added generous alternative areas for guests to relax on. Besides the sprawling sun deck, another area of interest is the aft main deck. This area is actually raised and not on the same level as the main deck at the stern of the yacht. To reach this space a pair of steps flank the area providing access. This serves to help break the perception of where this sort-of al-fresco space should be and also in practical terms where the area is more usable in a marina setting when moored Med-style; less-eyes and increased privacy.
  4. Stepping inside, guests will find the yacht conceals 292 GT worth of internal volume. It helps to allow a 5-cabin arrangement for up to 10 guests. In the standard arrangement, four cabins will be situated on the lower deck while the full-beam master is forward on the main deck. The master will have the option of a fold-out balcony should an owner prefer this set-up.
  5. It is not strange for Numarine to have repeat clients who perhaps are going to the next level with the yard. "The 30XP is a model that we have introduced for repeat Numarine customers who are aiming to step up in size" Ömer Malaz, Founder and Chairman of Numarine, commented ."Following in-depth market research, it is a sign of the huge success of our XP range that three units of the new model have already been sold to existing clients. With the diesel-electric engines and POD drives, this is going to be a revolutionary model." We are not certain which system will be used but below is an example of podded propulsion for illustration.
  6. In terms of performance, the yacht is expected to run at a top speed not exceeding 14-knots. One of the appealing features of these XP series yachts is the relatively low fuel consumption at slower speeds which inherently increases the range. Numarine is expecting 6,000 nautical miles at 8-knots out of the 30XP Hybrid. Speaking of Hybrid, customers will be able to choose between a more conventional set-up that uses a pair of MAN 560 engines or the diesel-electric propulsion system with Veth pod drives. For comparison, below is a Numarine 26XP, you can see the major changes that the 30XP implements.
  7. Looking at the exterior it doesn't appear that the vessel has any deck space to keep a tender onboard but on the port side of the hull there is access to a transverse garage for the main tender. Since the garage runs across the beam of the hull it does not take up alot of space longitudinally which still allows for reasonable volume for the guest staterooms. The first hull of the new Numarine 30XP Hybrid is expected to be delivered in 2024. Just keep in mind that at this point, 3 units have been sold and the molds are not even completed.
