  1. Crossover Orion Yacht Announced By Lynx Yachts
Lynx Yachts are always making the most of their YXT platform and this time they have come up with a design called the Crossover Orion yacht in collaboration with Dragoni Design Lab. "This project reflects twenty-plus years of my experience within the world of yachting, witnessing the demands and needs of customers,"says Sales & Marketing manager at Lynx Yachts, Filippo Rossi. The Crossover Orion is perhaps taking the idea of a shadow/support platform and making it more yacht-like for the regular yacht user.
  2. To address the tender storage situation on a 'support vessel turn superyacht' the team created steps leading down to the main platform at the stern in such a way that it contours to the shape of the tender's bow. Being a couple steps below grade of the main deck aft cockpit area allows the crew to maneuver the tender on and off the vessel without having to interfere with prominent guest social areas. The davit for the tender is also hidden out of sight forming part of the aft structure. This aft area is also aimed to be used as an outdoor theatre space too. "This approach has allowed for the inclusion of what could be described as a theatre facing the sea," concludes designer Dragoni "which is intended as a playful area for convivial functions when the tender has been deployed." Access to the sea from the beach platform is guaranteed by a large transformer.
  3. Onboard there will be accommodation for up to eight guests in four cabins. According to plans of the yacht there will be two doubles and two twins. One of the doubles is a V berth arrangement in the bow of the lower deck and is designated as the VIP cabins. The other double is the master suite which enjoys the full beam of the yacht with the cabin part of the space tucked to the starboard side of the centerline and the ensuite bathroom facilities to the port side. Crew quarters are located aft of the engine room, accessible via a hatch in the aft staircase and include two cabins for a total of four crew.
