  1. Lurssen Project 'SHU' Ends Sea Trials
German custom superyacht manufacturer Lurssen has announced that their large superyacht the 136-meter (446.2-foot) Project 'SHU' has ended its sea trials in the Baltic Sea and will be soon ready for delivery. Espen Oeino was responsible for formulating the exterior lines of this massive yacht while Mark Berryman brought the interior to life with their concept for the owner. This highly voluminous superyacht has staggering dimensions and at nearly 450-feet long, project SHU is also pretty beamy, with a maximum width of 20.50-meters or around 67.2-feet!
  2. The yacht is very good looking despite her very large dimensions. The balance and proportion of the exterior profile allows for generous deck space that offer a range of options for owners and guests to enjoy. Some special features onboard are afforded because of her size and with her 67-foot width, the main pool is fitted transversely on the aft main deck, that not only saves space -as if this was an issue- but gives a different orientation for the sake of aesthetics.
  3. Two helipads are onboard, one on the bow and the other on the upper aft deck. This allows for the possibility of multiple helicopter operations onboard for owner and guests if that was needed. Other highlights of her profile include the sea terraces and platforms, which enable guests to access the water easily for water sport activities as well as relaxation. While we do not have interior photos Lurssen describes the internal spaces as "nothing short of spectacular". They also describe the interior as having soft neutral tones and tactile finishes.
  4. Shipyard Managing Partner Peter Lürssen commented on the project: "SHU fulfills the requests of a very experienced owner in an exceptional way. The owner’s input within all aspects of the yacht’s design was clear, strong and exacting. Building SHU was a significant challenge and we are very proud of this achievement. She represents another remarkable milestone in our history." Even with sea trials completed, we do not know of her true performance figures. Project SHU will be delivered to her owner this Autumn.
