First Hull For Leven Yachts To Soon Launch

Ever heard of Leven Yachts? If you haven't then there is probably a good reason why. Their first yacht is expected to soon launch to be able to attend the 2019 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) -October 30 to Nov 3-. This company's first yacht will be a 27-meter specifically designed for cruising the very shallow waters of The Bahamas, especially the Exumas. The vessel has a very shallow draft and protected props which in theory will shield her screws from obstacles on or near the bottom.

The vessel is being built of all-aluminium at the Van der Valk facilities in The Netherlands. There is launch date of September 24th which gives them less than a month to have the vessel shipped to the U.S in time for the show. The design is by Vripack who also is responsible for the engineering. Leven in Dutch basically means "Life" or "To Live" is the ethos behind this model and line of yachts. The vessel has two internal decks and an open-air sun deck which is 3/4 covered by a hardtop. It appears the primary helm station is on the forward sun deck as there is no main station below on the forward main deck. That area is taken up by a galley, a galley with great views!

Below decks is where you'll find the accommodations. There is a four-cabin layout for guests who will be slept in a master suite, a VIP, a double and a twin. Crew are located forward of the VIP room in the bow and naturally will have their own separate entrance. A pair of MTU 12V 2000 are expected to give a top speed of 26-knots. A 400 nautical mile range at cruising speeds will allow for extensive cruising around the Bahamas. Look out for the Leven 27-meter at this year's FLIBS.
