Hylas 49 Makes Debut At MIBS

The Miami International Boat Show (MIBS) is upon us and will commence on the 15th of February and run until the 19th. At this year's show will be the debut of the Hylas 49 even though this boat was unveiled to the public approximately 2 years ago. Those who have heard about Hylas would know them from building easy-going sailboats but they have also branched-off to making powerboats too. The Hylas 49 is the latest although the yard isn't stopping at this length as there is an M58 flybridge/sedan in the works designed by Zurn Yacht Design.

Back to the Hylas M49, it joins its slightly smaller model-sister the M44 in the lineup. The vessel is traditional in its appeal but still has enough modern edge to the design to keep the average boater interested. The cost is just under 1.50 million. Of course there are some changes that can be made to suit the tastes of a new owner. The standard layout likely calls for two cabins and two heads which will make everybody comfortable. A V-Berth in the bow and a smaller snook cabin further aft is the arrangement.

In terms of power, the M49 is powered by a pair of Yanmar 370 horsepower engines which give this vessel zippy performance. In the salon up front on the starboard side is the helm position controlling the power from the Yanmar powerplants. A single wide-format screen displays all necessary information complementing switches and buttons that are all in hand's reach. The elevated bench seating gives those in command great views around the boat for good situational awareness. If you want to see this boat at the show it will be located at Herald Plaza B23.
