  1. "Home" Christened At Heesen Yachts
Yesterday Dutch builder Heesen used Facebook to reveal a few photos of the christening of their latest build. The yacht in question was previously known under project name 'NOVA'. However, as we can see in the photos, the yacht is now called "Home". She is described at the world's first Fast Displacement yacht with Hybrid propulsion and with her all-aluminium construction, Home is expected to be very efficient. Power will be coming from dual lower power MTU 12V 2000 M61s but that is her diesel fed generation of power. Home is a hybrid so she also combines electric motors to power the yacht to a useful speed of 9-knots alone using that power source. If Home wants to travel quietly or extend her range she can run on her electric motors and only burn around 12 gallons per hour (GPH). At 12 knots, she should see a range of over 3,700 nautical miles.

  2. Onboard, her space is decent with a four-deck arrangement. Cristiano Gatto was contracted to provide their interior design services. Accommodation will be provided for as many as twelve guests with the master suite being up front on the main deck in the traditional position. The master suite is full beam in nature and features oversized and full height windows for the owner to enjoy. The other five guest rooms are on the lower deck along with crew cabins a spaces. Guest spaces onboard include a beach club on aft lower deck, an integrated swim platform provides enough real estate for watersports activities as well as lounging area as suggested in the below photo. Full underwater lighting all around the hull adds extra drama for what is already a beautiful Home for the owner. We await the official launching of this yacht from the sheds of Heesen.
