News: First Maori M125 Nears Completion

M125 By Maori Yachts Nearing Completion

Maori Yachts has been quietly working on a new yacht. That yacht is the Maori M125, a 38.2-meter build with a design by Marco Ciampa in collaboration with NavalHEAD for the Naval Architecture. The M125's design is unconventional in terms of the shapes, proportions and even choice of hardware along certain areas of the yacht. The construction overall was made in composite where the yard is competent in vacuum infusion for their fiberglass work.

While the exterior is thought-provoking, the interior by Pulina Exclusive Interiors is more mature in its approach. Firstly, there are five (5) cabins onboard for the accommodation of up to ten (10) guests and up to seven (7) crew as well. For the furniture pieces there was a emphasis on softening the appearance by having curved shapes introduced to the spaces. Below you can see in the rendering how this design idea was implemented.

Although the yacht's deck arrangement is a bit different than usual there are areas that can be utilized by the guests. In fact, the yard decided to place the tenders and toys below deck to rid them from cluttering the deck. Two flush-fitting deck garage doors will fold up on the aft lower deck and a center-line crane between them will do the maneuvering. Once the area is clear, the doors can be closed and the large aft deck space is available once again for loose furniture and shading structures can also be erected. The foredeck, although it contributes to the stubby-nature of the bow has a C-shaped alcove area for guests to utilize. This yacht is the first hull for this new form-factor by Maori, the yacht should launch in two to three months if all goes to plan.
